About Us
Open Minds is a Small, Specialist Team With Personal Experience of Addiction, Recovery, and Family Impact
Open Minds Rehab was created with one purpose: to offer a calm, compassionate, specialist environment for people recovering from substance addiction, process addiction, and eating disorders. We are intentionally small, intentionally personal, and intentionally human.
We believe recovery happens when people feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported — not judged, rushed, or lost in a crowd.
aim improve the lives of people affected by chemical dependency by providing quality, affordable abstinence-based treatment.
Our Story
Open Minds was founded by people who know addiction and recovery from the inside. Every member of our core team has personal experience of addiction and recovery, either through their own journey or through supporting a close family member.
This lived experience shapes everything we do:
- the way we listen
- the way we speak
- the way we set boundaries
- the way we support you through shame, fear, or relapse
- the way we understand the emotional patterns behind addiction and eating disorders
We don’t just understand recovery professionally — we understand it personally.
And that makes a difference you can feel the moment you walk through the door.
Our Ethos
We believe:
- addiction and eating disorders are health conditions, not moral failings
- people heal through connection, honesty, and compassion
- structure creates safety
- expert, evidence-based therapy is essential
- recovery is possible for everyone with the right support
Our approach is warm, grounded, and deeply human — backed by evidence‑based therapy and a clear, structured programme.
the border with Cheshire and North Wales puts us within easy reach of a wide range of leisure and exercise opportunities which we make use of as part of the weekly programme.
